Now I
know why "It's good
to be the king!"

|

Nothing
like beauty to charm the monsters! If you look close, you can see
the remains of someone's sword in the beastie's mouth. If only they
had this wonderful Lady along when they tried defeating the monster...
Oh well; get devoured and learn, I guess.

This juggler
performs each year at the RenFest and is most impressive. He juggles
all manner of dangerous objects from rather interesting places --
like the top of a free-standing ladder or on a
burning rope.

A very
practical belt that is guaranteed to adjust to the wearer's waist
size. But is it really what the ladies wore in the 16th century?

One of
the many musical groups that can be seen, heard and felt at the
RenFest.

Not only
is this bloke is very discerning when it comes to cigars, he makes
very fine beer and mead. Just remember to compliment him a lot,
and be sure to tell him his mead should have won the '96 RenFest
brewing contest. It was fixed, I tell ya!

Typical

Cigars
were apparently the thing at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.
Sir Walter Raleigh would have been proud I'm sure!

Another
activity a visitor to the MN. RenFest can do is get a Tarot card
reading, like this girl is doing. They cost about $30.00 for a half
hour reading and are frightenly accurate. I'm not sure how the folk
at the fair can read the cards all day -- I'm generally drained
after doing just two readings for someone. Leave it to the Pros,
I guess!

One of
the games you can try your luck at the RenFest. There's a bell at
the end of the ladder you're supposed to ring and you win $5.00
(I think). The vendors make this look extremely easy; and it is
as long as you know the secret (and they're not telling).

Getting
"Smiley" the 'gater ready for lurkingin the King's moat.
Try to keep this in mind if you're ever tempted to sneak into the
RenFest without buying a ticket.

Nakedness?
Nymph? I'm really not at all sure what crime was commited here.
Just remember when you visit the fair -- the justice system may
not be what you're used to.
