Model Release Form

I assume you've seen the photo galleries and have some idea of the sort of pictures I like to create. I'm always looking for models to photograph for various fine art projects; if you're interested in discussing a photo session by all means send me e-mail. Keep in mind that I live in St. Paul, Minnesota -- this could very well create logistics concerns if you live some distance away.

My requirements are rather simple:

* All models must be adults, and may be asked to show ID.

* Be reliable.

* Be able and willing to communicate, either through e-mail or the phone. This would include such things as responding to e-mail and phone calls, and letting me know if a photo session needs to be cancelled.

* Prior experience is not required.

* Not being at all wealthy, I cannot afford to pay very much for modeling time in cash.  Currently, I can offer three options:

    1. I can trade finished prints for time, which would consist of a limited number of black and white prints (either 5x7 or 8x10), and/or a full set of co lour 4x6" prints (35mm only) from the session.  Also, I would be willing to let the model pick an 8x10 matted print of my other work if desired.  In addition, any pictures given to the model from the session can be used for self-promotion in her/his portfolio or on the model's WEB site, although I would retain all copyrights.

    2.  I can pay the model:
        For "clothed / costumed" modeling:   $10.00 per hour with a $30.00  minimum payment
        For artistic figure modeling:  $20.00 per hour with a $50.00 minimum payment

        Hourly rates do not include travel time to and from a location, side trips, etc.

    3.  A combination of the above two options can be worked out as well; I am open to discussing alternate forms of compensation.

* At this time I'm not looking for male subjects, although this could easily change in the future. Inquiries from male models are accepted, but my response may be slow in coming unless I have a specific project in mind.

* I would prefer the model to have a "natural" look; that is, an absence of tattoos, body piercings / modifications, excessive shaving, tan lines, etc.  However, this can sometimes be worked around or even used for a specific project -- if further clarification on this point is needed don't hesitate to ask.

* Although not necessary, long hair is a definite plus.

* Nudity is not required -- it's entirely up to the comfort level of the model. But it would be preferable to have it as an option. The degree and style of nudity I prefer is evident in the photo galleries. I will not ask anyone to do anything that would be considered "explicit adult material" or anything they are not comfortable doing; that's not at all what I'm about or interested in. All concerns regarding nudity will be discussed and addressed before the session.
